Background of the Study
Traditional architecture reflects the cultural heritage and identity of communities, serving as a testament to their history and way of life. In Bida Local Government Area, Niger State, traditional architectural designs such as mud houses, palaces, and shrines are integral to the community's identity. Photography offers a means to document and preserve these structures, ensuring that future generations can appreciate their cultural significance. According to Usman and Bello (2024), photographic archives play a crucial role in preserving architectural heritage, especially in regions where traditional structures are at risk of deterioration. This study investigates the use of photography as a medium for archiving traditional architecture in Bida, emphasizing its role in cultural preservation and education.
